Finding an effect

Postby Josh26Indy » 03-27-2010 02:58 PM

Gotta Question. I pulled a (exploding crate) model & skins from Joint ops. stuck it in a new .pff & it shows up in NILE If you stand next to it & shoot it you will die. that part works... but there is no actual explosion. How do I find the explosion effect file? Anybody know?

Ummm... NO!!!! Its A MOD QUESTION !!!! What Im wanting to know is if I made a new effect. would I need to make 2 one for the Item & one to be called up with "FX2SSN" in the wac code. I didnt ask it that way because my question is simpler & gives the same result. And what do you mean you believe "FX2ssn" is the Correct command, you know damn well it is.
I on the other hand have only really been on this game since November and don't have all the code committed to memory. But thats OK since I wasnt asking a wac code question. I was pretty sure that anyone who could give me the answer would be smart enough to see around the improperly written command. And wouldn't you know it, I was right, here you are and clearly you knew what command I was talking about.

And why would you direct me to the wikiwac... Did you read my question?
Did you read the wikiwac entry... the answer to MY question is not in there.

If you dont want to answer my questions then dont, Im sure someone else will. And if noone does... Im certain I can figure it out on my own.

I also do not need things to be in all "CAPS" or in "BOLD" in order to read them as I have perfect vision. When you do that it makes you look like your being a total smartass.

whatever dude
cool your jets, its just a larger font....... i had'nt checked the command, but it didnt look right to me, hence i said "i believe" ... i was simply corecting your command as many people spell wac commands wrong and then dont understand why it doesnt work. theres no need to get bent out of shape over it!!!!

why dont you read what you typed from the perspective from someone who doesnt know what you are thinking... clearly it seams as if you are posing a mapping question, especially when you mention SSN... In modding you never deal with SSN....

if you make a effect that works, you can "call it up" with the wac command i mentioned.

if you want a litteral answer to your previous question

No theyre not. Yes you can.

if you want , you know where my teamspeak is, jump in some time and ask away.

Maybe if Nova or some other company came out with a game so people cared enough...! :(

I feel like the days of community modding are coming to an end. From what I understand - and I've been out of the loop for a couple of years at this point, so maybe I'm wrong and correct me if I am - it takes too many people to create a good mod now. What could be done with Photoshop because of lower resolution textures now looks totally unrealistic... you have to have photorealism, spend more time modeling things, maps are a pain when you need to add more detail, many companies aren't even releasing SDKs anymore because of the high cost (i.e. EA with Battlefield Bad Company 2 - WTF).

I could keep going on but you see the point.

I am not an angry person. And no BlackIce I did not yell at Luke to get help.
I yelled at Luke after I asked a yes or no question and was given an answer that wasn't related to the question I asked. When that happened I assumed Luke was just blowing me off, this made me angry, and I do not believe any shade of blue would have helped. The reason I got as angry as I did is because it seems like every time I ask a question about how something works people assume Im trying to steal their work or try to act like Im stupid and wont understand the answer.
