hi, ive got my .def files working and have been experimenting with the files, i have done everything i know but i would like to learn more about these files and know about more things that can be done. can anyone share any knowledge with me?:)

umm i posted a long 25 page tutorial on def files in the past, but the topic got deleted and i never backed it up, so i dont really want to go into detail about what everything does, but you figure most things out just by playing with them, try removing some flags, or adding flags to certain weapons, maybe change the gfx1st and 3rd, or go into items and change playerspeeds and maxslopes, or ammo, change the recoil, avatars, change some 3dis on the player skins, just play around with it. the first year of experience i had with modding was just making really funny fucked up looking stuff
Can't wait to see Angel Falls. Everyone sign up for their stupid Gold membership lol

lol, il carry on messin around than and learing more. Can i change how high i jump and running speed in the def files? or is that wot u mean "playerspeed" in items.def? ohh and is there sumwhere under stinger in weapon.def that tell its what to lock onto, because i want it to be able to lock onto different things?

in bhd you can but in Jo you can't

the "playerspeed"
stands for how fast the player moves the vehicle

now that you mention it... im not completely sure what makes it only lock onto helicopters and not cars...

me neither, i think its someting we should look into beacuse i think the outcome could be interesting;) il have a look around the files but last time i looked i couldnt find anything to do with the stinger locking onto objects etc. maybe it is written in a different file somewhere in the game.:confused:

ok ive done it, al you have to do is attach the radar and heat signature tags of the helicopter in items.def and add then to cars etc. now your stinger will lock onto whatever gives of a heat signature.:D
