Silenced Weapons

To easily silence any weapon:
Open up weapon.def and find this entry for the weapon of choice:
For ex. the colt45
Code: Select all
action "fire"
      delayend            auto
      soundsetend         GS_45
      anim            anim_wpn_fire
      function         wpn_std_fire
      particle         Effect_Colt45MF
      particleuserpoint   mflash01
   end


now change the "soundsetend" attribute to "GS_MP5SUP", so it says:
Code: Select all
action "fire"
      delayend            auto
                 soundsetend         GS_MP5SUP
      anim            anim_wpn_fire
      function         wpn_std_fire
      particle         Effect_Colt45MF
      particleuserpoint   mflash01
   end

now you have a supressed weapon:D This works on all weapons.

good, or theres that other way..... of just replacing the car15 sound w/ a silent sound :) and modding the lwf file ;)... it takes longer but works alot better

nice kenboyles72 mite be of interest

one first things i attempted when learning these defs

joint operations
delete the entire parachute from def then use the tag parachute in the wpn_knife and wpn_knife2

example
Code: Select all
weapon "WPN_KNIFE"
   category 1
   rank     0
   statid 100

   flags   Parachute //here

   teamfilter   blue
   

   charfilter   medic
   charfilter   sniper
   charfilter   gunner
   charfilter   rifleman
   charfilter   engineer


all players will now have single parachute auto equipt for each life :D
