I`m only overweight because of a "feet disorder"...I can`t keep them out of the f*cking Pantry.

ahhh another thing that the toolz do. fire up the jo terain gen and let it build and look in the folder and presto different lod`s of the terrain in .obj. Simply having a ball i am:D

That seems like a nice tut there bull, ill have to try that one some time. Im sort of suprised ive gotten 2 replies already. I just made a simple terrain for delta force 2 and im sitting here amazed at how much easier it is to use a program like 3dmax to make your terrain height maps, and help with color maps. The few terrains ive made in the past, like a year and a half ago.. I did them in Paint Shop Pro by hand.

Although 3ds is a marvellous way of making & editing your terrain height map & rendering also.
There`s nothing quite like photoshop for making your own colour & bump/det files.They are without doubt my favourite terrain files.
I spend bloody ages(in fact ,far too much time really) just experimenting with those buggers.
but.I might add (Ilove it)Those files are the "dogs bollox" when it comes to customising a terrain.
You can take any terrain,customised or stock,open the trn,edit the c1,c2 or c3 det files with your own work & give a totally new feel to it,just with those changes
You can of course go even deeper into it and play with the m.pcx,especially for snow maps,ie-a blast of snow emitted from the ground when a bullet hit`s.
& even the polytern detail & polyterndetail dist_ map.
The possibilities are virtually infinite.
That`s basically why I`ve stuck with it for so long & not moved onto max for modelling.....TERRAINS ROCK.hehe.
Right,I`ll stop now before I really go off on one.lmao.
If you need any help at all bud gimme a shout.
Not for max though.You know more about that than me.I`m sure;)
