OK, now I'm convinced it's done with the gear..

I loaded the original 3di file into a hex ed..you can see what animations are used..

What else would the gear be used for..now I just need to finish my model..or wait till LoA helps me.. :)

yes its done with the gear,,,,,,

as soon as its 10 m up it will do what ever u make it do

however there has been problems moving cb's with vehicles
prolly why nova never used it for doors

if its object 3 then make the cb03 it should move with that part

Updated again...still missed a few inverted polys..also has the husk, but it's for a blackhawk anyway..LOL..

Also turned the model around the right way..

I have my helo MH53 flying :)..

I set the start angle of the door at -45, so it's open when the helo is on the ground..

I have setup the door as HELO_GEAR, but, as soon as the helo spins up, the door disappears, then reappears when it spins down, so I decided that the HELO_GEAR is for retractable undercarriage, and will be removed from view while the helo is running..

I'll try a few of the other ones next..

ahhh, try this make that a 02 sub object then have the blades follow it 3456 and so on. that should stop it from dissapearing

Still working on the door, but, I notice when flying my MH53, the camera is further away than say the Blackhawk, and, in the med, you can see the outer circle is way out there..so, I'm assuming this is why..

Anyone have any knowledge on this..?

cause the model is bigger, the sub i made awhile back had a insane huge circle same with the blimp

Guess I'll have to leave it..LOL..

Anyway..back on track...

My original Door was named as an 02 object, and blades 03/04/05/06

I removed all the joints for the door, and just made it an 02..

Went into oed, set it all up, with nothing at all for the 02..and, the door still dissappears when the helo starts..

So, I renamed the door as an 01, and all the blades as 02/03/04/05..and now the door doesn't disappear..

So, I will have a play, maybe it needs to be the 06 object.!!??

Anyway, I went ahead and did a version with the door that stays down, I just rotated the door in max..

Added sit points, weapon, and FX for the heat bloom..Looks great compared to the one IC did...at least you can see my glass, and I have a heat bloom :)

just an opinion but shouldn't it be scaled up a little? i told the IC guys the same thing after they put it in their mod.

good job on it tho EE, it looks great :D

just an idea but it you haven't a use for it you could post it in the donation section with some details about how rotors work. i only just found out how rotors worked for heli's. still haven't gotten around to making a decent chopper for a tutorial yet.

Yeah, was thinking about doing that since I already posted the basic model, and used a bit of trial and error to set up the parts..

I'll wait a little longer, see if I can figure the door bit, if not, I'll make a tut, and supply this model, also need to tweek the def file, and maybe add some different sounds..

Was thinking obout rescaling..so, I just might do that, it's pretty easy..

i wouldnt mind useing the set up you have now to try to get it to work. im to lazy to do all the texturing and stuff but wouldnt mind messing around with the oed options for it. bytw it looks real good in the pics.

OK, I renumbered the items..it used to be like this..

01_main body
02_door
03_main blade running
04_main blade parked
05_rear blade running
06_rear blade parked

Now, it's

01_main body
02_main blade parked
03_main blade running
04_rear blade parked
05_rear blade running
06_door

Now, I set up the door as a "Gear" it raises at about 10 metres, now to work on the CB for it..

###EDIT###

Haven't found a way to move the CB for the door yet, but I have this version instead..maybe I'll forget the door, and go with this :)
