OK, question first :)
1) Where did you get your models from for the terranova mod? And would you have any problems with the IC Mod (http://www.internationalconflict.com) using them?

I have a major problem with my plane in jo... It dips (http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n23/trleighton/?action=view&current=JOPlanes.flv)
obviously NOT what a plane should do!
So.. any amazing/imaginative people figure out whats going on? I think its to do with the move_function chel - and was wondering if anyone knew where it was kept so i could make my own :-)

Most don't care as long as there credited for what you took, But asking them directly is the best way to approch it.

hi marine i started making a plane to and it kept dipping too i think there's a line in the Items.def file that tells you were it is

I know ive played with the items.def file a lot. I even unpacked my C4 resources and stole a model and item definition from them to test it, but it still dips. I think it may be hardcoded into the game, but im not sure...

Might email nova and ask!

The .AIP? I believe that is just for the AI when they control the vehicle because i have tried using one from the terranova mod for the plane but it still is wierd... I think this may be built into the game engine... But for some reason C4 has planes that fly straight... So wierd.

API is for vehicles every vehicle has them and i think there is away of getting planes into JOE just need to research deeper

I've tried the f-16 API but it still don't work right

SpongeBob - You are talking about an API, do you mean the .AIP files or is there a file packed in somewhere i dunno about?

I would have a problem with the IC team using the models, only because whoever made the credits, didn't credit anyone but their own team. No props or credits were given to the team that made the JO mod tools, and some of those guys had attitude issues that I keep hearing about.

i understand your point, but as things are going now we will not probably use it at all unless we can get the dipping issue sorted. IC v3 is out in about 2 weeks, and this is not going to be in it, but i cant for the life of me see why its dipping even when i set it to move_function cpln (as migs are in C4)...

I don't know about the dipping issue. The C4 .3di files were modified by hand with a hex editor by some of TerraNova's talented members before they were ported to BHD for compatibility reasons. Most likely, you'll need to use these same models if your going to port it over to JO / DFX (without rebuilding the models colision volumes). If you choose to just drop those models in your mod, you should certainly credit the people who spent countless hours making the models function; stable; on other Nova engines.

To be honest, im not on the ic mod team, im just a member of the Japanese Army. I am just wanting to see planes in JO. I know about the collision boxes, on the f16 model i exported from bhd terranova to put in the testing of why planes cant be added...

ive tried using the P_CESSNA aip, but it still occurs? Anyone else got any mad ideas that may work?

Planes do seem to be the holy grail of Nova modding right now. I'm not sure why Nova didn't have working planes, considering JO was supposed to be the BF killer; which has and has had planes since the first release of BF1942.

Yeh, i know...

Im just going to try the F16 AIP that didnt work the first time i tried it (The map was using the H_HOKUM aip because i forgot that the aip was set in the map...)

If we can sort the dipping, perhaps if nova release an update that allows to do that if necessary, then we would need to find/make a model of a Harrier jumpjet (Mainly because of verticle takeoff, just like a chopper)...

I think I no one last thing that might work using the bhdts plane in joe and see if that works
